I won’t linger too long on the details of what I believe (with my sorry excuse for a degree in film) makes these films excellent (you’re lucky you don’t meet me in person, I do tend to go on).
Danny Boyle’s film Sunshine:
To me this is classic science fiction, combining a morality tale about humanity and great application of real science. I haven’t seen a science-fiction film this good since Contact.
Juno:
Charming characters saying hilarious lines in an unconventional story accompanied by a unique soundtrack makes this film excellent.
